The Fraction:
• The Commemoration of the saints:
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses" (Hebrews 12:1)
- The communion of saints represents the cloud of witness which surrounds the believers.
- The priest mentions the name of the saints starting with Holy Virgin Mary, John the Baptist, St. Mark and a lot of saints and martyrs.
- In this part of the liturgy the church os like Heaven, all the saints are attending and joining us in the liturgy.
• The Fraction:
- The fraction is a prayer of thanksgiving to God of his inexpressible gift, as he gave us his Holy Body and his precious Blood.
- In this prayer the priest divides the Holy Body into small parts so as everyone of us can take a jewel of the body.
- The priest detaches the Spadikon (a Greek work means The Lord) and put it into the chalice. The priest only can eat it.
- At the end of this prayer, after dividing the Holy Body into parts, the priest puts them back together and raise it up, to remind us that although we are so many people yet er are one in Jesus Christ's Body.
• The Confession:
+ The priest then raises the Paten carefully and recites the confession to proclaim our faith in the Holy Body and Blood before jpartaking of it.
+ After the confession, we are ready to take the communion while praising psalm 150.
